MBSA - Yacht Club of Year

Each year, members of the MBSA board nominate different organizations that have gone above and beyond to promote sailing, that run an exceptional program, or are deserving of recognition in other ways. For instance, last year's recipient were the combined south shore clubs for getting over 40 boats out on the water 3 Wednesdays out of the summer for the Boston Harbor rumbles. This year, we recognize a north shore club's weekday program, the Jubilee Thursday Night Series. Michael Maxwell had these bullet points to share:

Jubilee has been running its Thursday night racing program for over 40 years.
While the trend of competitive racing fleets in Mass Bay has seen declining attendance, the Jubilee fleet has seen growth over the past two years.
Averaging over 30 boats per night, the JYC fleet has managed to have protest-free PHRF racing for over a decade.
The fleet continues to evolve and solicit new ways to engage the community by including local high school sailors as key members of several racing teams.
They strive to run a quality racing program run by a committee of volunteers, and celebrate the success of our participants with weekly and annual awards.
I'll add that as an occasional racer in Jubilee sponsored events, I always feel welcome by their club and their members – they are a class act. Please come up to accept the award for Organization of the Year.
